بِسْمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Please could you assist me with the following question? I am in the service and repair industry and often get called to do work at outlets that are either non halal or sell alcohol on the premises. I would like to know if it is permissible to work and then receive payment from the above-mentioned outlets. What does shariah say regarding this issue?

The payment you receive is for the work you do and it is apparent that the items you repair, maintain or service are not reprehensible in the Shariah nor is your vocation, hence the payment is Halaal. Your intention is providing a Halaal service, not servicing equipment to house or sell alcohol or Haram goods. Taqwa however admonishes that a Muslim stay away from such jobs by which Haram indirectly benefits even though the wage acquired is allowed.
Allah and His Rasool know best.
