Scientific Miracles in the Qur’an
Discovery of The Fingerprint
All praise is due to Allah Ta aala, the Lord of the worlds. Peace and choicest salutations upon the Beloved Messenger (peace be upon him)
The Holy Qur’an has undoubtedly stood the test of time and has proven its authenticity as the word of God. Aside from the many prophecies it has fulfilled, and the numerous lives it has changed positively with its clear-cut messages and commands to economic and social development, we now find that even scientists of great repute are attributing many scientific discoveries to the Qur’an. Rightfully so! This is due to the fact that the Qur’an has mentioned these things over 1400 years ago. As technology progresses and mankind delves deeper into science, they are everyday proving the Qur’an to be the word of Allah Ta aala.
In a time when the arabs were at the depths of darkness, the Beloved Messenger (peace be upon him) brought them into the light. Even though his teachings appealed to most, many Arabs were finding it difficult to accept the concept of being resurrected to the after-life. The incident leading to a verse which has stunned many western thinkers is as follows :
Adi Bin Rabee’ah had once said to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) “even if I were to witness the Day of Judgement, I will still not believe in it and not bring faith in you. How can it be possible for totally disintegrated bones to be brought back together?” in response to his claim, the following verse was revealed (Tafseer Roohul Ma’aani)
“Does the human being think that we shall not gather his bones?”
Yes indeed! We are able to put together in perfect order, the tips of his fingers” (Surah Qiyaamah Verses 3-4)
For many years, people have been trying to understand the fourth verse of this Surah…until now!
This verse only began to make sense when the fingerprint was discovered in the 19th century. Before this, people believed it to be natural curves on each finger. A fingerprint is formed just before birth and will remain for the life span of a person provided that no permanent scarring occurs.
This is what has been said by western scholars in regards to the fingerprint ,
“The validity of the technique to establish identity by means of fingerprints (AFS) has been confirmed by various police organisations over the last 25 years and is a legally approved method. No technology of identity verification in our time gives such effective results as fingerprints. Using fingerprints to establish identity has been used in legal processes for the last 100 years and possesses international acceptance”.

In his book “Fingerprint Techniques” A.A. Moenssens analyses the way that each individual has a unique set of fingerprints:
“No two fingerprints from different digits have ever been found to match exactly”

Praise be to Allah!!!
Allah Ta Aala was saying to all those who disbelieve in his ability to re-arrange the very tips of their fingers (fingerprints) that he will recreate everyone in the way he originally created them. This means that every person has been created with a unique fingerprint. Even identical twins have different fingerprints to one another. Allah Ta Aala is saying that he will recreate every individual up to the detail which can be found on the tips of each finger…the Fingerprint. If such a unique design can be re-assembled with ease, then surely the to re-arrange disintegrated bones will be simple.
