Preamble
On the 20th of November 2015 I delivered a lecture at the biggest Musjid in the Southern Hemisphere located in Durban, the Juma Mosque. Being the first Jumuah prayer after the Paris Attacks, I thought it necessary set the record straight by refuting extremism within the Islāmic framework. After my lecture, I was urged by many of the attendees to put the information on paper, hence the reason for the below essay.
I urge you all to pray to Almighty Allāh that He accepts my efforts and the efforts of the Islāmic Lifestyle Solutions in providing the Ummah with sound information founded upon the Qur’an and Sunnah!

Introduction
On the evening of 13th November 2015, a series of coordinated ‘terror’ attacks in the form of mass shooting, suicide bombing & hostage crises in Paris sent shockwaves across the world. To the families of the victims, we express our deepest sympathy at their loss and hereby place on record, that aside from the minorities who support the radical views of the bogus Islāmic State (ISIS), the majority of 1.68bn Muslims
categorically condemn and incontrovertibly denounce such behavior, particularly in the name of Islām! This however, is not the basis of our essay. Our approach is of far greater significance. The analysis will be focused on the singular ‘fact’ which led the world to be stereotyped into believing that the perpetrators of the Paris attacks were indeed Muslim viz. the emergence of a Syrian passport recovered amid the
carnage! Sounds familiar?
The Mysterious Fire-Proof Passport…Strikes again
In probably the most horrific terrorist event in modern history, the collapse of the twin towers was undoubtedly a tragic one. The buildings which were designed to withstand temperatures in excess of thousands of degrees collapsed in the manner of a purposeful demolition. Hundreds and thousands of tons of rubble from the debris halted progress on all fronts, delaying the identification process of thousands
of victims. Miraculously though, amidst the chaos, passports were recovered from the hijacked planes. Paper it seems, is stronger than metal!
In the wake of the Paris attacks, a Syrian passport was recovered. Once again, the consistency of the fireproof paper is in evidence for all to see. This is deception of the highest order. It was merely an excuse to allow America their much coveted reasoning to enter into what is fast becoming, the build up to yet another US led attack of a ‘Muslim’ country. These are a people, who, in the pursuit of their evil objectives
will not flinch at the thought of mass murder en-route to accomplishing their goals.
Fact– the USA backed Saddam Husain and later labeled him a terrorist dictator.
Fact– the USA backed and armed Osama bin Laden against the Soviet Union. He too was later deemed a terrorist, and became the fall guy for 9/11
Fact– the USA has issued statements saying that they have supplied arms to ISIS and now they are also deemed terrorists.
It does not take rocket science to connect the dots and realize the emerging pattern. The constant finger pointing at Islām and the Muslims is in effect by default. The detection of a mere passport was reason enough to justify France’s bombing of Syria. That’s all it took, and in a matter of days, many innocent Syrian Muslims have lost their lives in the crossfire. Since our position is to categorically refute the emergence of a fireproof passport as the reason through which Islām and Muslims now face further Islāmophobia, we must progress to understand the concept and origin of a ‘False Flag’ operation and turn to the Qur’an & Sunnah for guidance.
False Flag Operations
A cursory study into the concept reveals that historically, the term ‘False Flag’ has its origins in naval warfare where the use of a flag other than the belligerent’s true battle flag as a ruse de guerre, before engaging the enemy, has long been accepted. The contemporary term ‘False flag’ describes covert operations that are designed to deceive in such a way that the operations ‘appear’ as though they are being carried out by entities, groups, or nations other than those who actually planned and executed them. This is the basis upon which the War against Islām aka the ‘War on Terror’ has been forged upon. It seems as though the age of Appearance vs. Reality is in play yet again.
As a corollary of that blatant lie, the overall Muslim community is branded once more with the Islāmophobic signature of terror. It is for this reason that we turn to the Qur’an, combined with Islāmic Eschatology for guidance in order to unravel the origin of the concept of ‘False Flag Operations’ in the modern age.
The Qur’an & the Origin of False Flag Operations
In essence, a False Flag Operation requires:
a) Motive – the driving force behind all crimes.
b) Plot – A scheme through which the motive is justified.
c) Plan of execution
d) Cover up Story – ensuring that someone else gets the blame.
Prior to our analysis on the origin of ‘False Flags’ we must turn to one of the most pivotal verses in the
Qur’an in order to understand the modern age. Allāh Almighty states in the Qur’an:
وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ تِبْيَـٰنًۭا لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَهُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةًۭ وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ
” …And We reveal the Scripture unto thee as an exposition of all things, and a guidance and a mercy and good
tidings for those who have surrendered (to Allāh).” (Surah An-Nahl, V.89)
With the above-mentioned verse at the forefront of the analysis, it follows that the Qur’an must have narrated to us an incident which meets the criteria of displaying a motive coupled a plot, followed by plan of execution, and topped with a cover up story. Furthermore, since the Qur’an explains all things, it must also direct us (the people of this age) to the puppeteers in the field of deception & false flag operations. Only the Qur’an can explain the mysterious age that we reside in.
The Qur’an & the Origin of False Flag Operations
In what is known as ‘Ahsanul Qasas’ ( The Best of Stories), Surah Yusuf is placed as one of the most unique stories told in the Qur’an and its attention to detail is wondrous to behold. By its own admittance, the Surah tells us that its message is clear (12:1) and its revelation in the Arabic language is to induce the rational faculty (12:2). Furthermore, It displays to us with clarity that whilst Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) is at the epicenter of the narrative, one must be observant and pay careful attention to his initial nemeses as it so brilliantly articulated,
لَّقَدْ كَانَ فِى يُوسُفَ وَإِخْوَتِهِۦٓ ءَايَـٰتٌۭ لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ
“Verily, in Joseph and his brethren are signs for the inquiring” (Surah Yusuf, 12:7)
The Qur’an has directed the attention of the inquisitor to the implicit ‘signs’ of both sides of the narrative viz. Yusuf (peace be upon him) and his brothers, in order to unravel its mysteries. When we focus our attention to his brothers, we firstly identify that their actions against Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) was not without motive.
The Motive:
إِذْ قَالُوا۟ لَيُوسُفُ وَأَخُوهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَبِينَا مِنَّا وَنَحْنُ عُصْبَةٌ إِنَّ أَبَانَا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ
“When they said: Certainly Yusuf and his brother are dearer to our father than we, though we are a (stronger) company; most surely our father is in manifest error” (Surah Yusuf 12:8)
The motive is quite clear. They were in search of their father’s love and affection but thought his love to be reserved for this other two sons (Yusuf and Bin Yameen). In the pursuit of their father’s love, emerged the next step of their deceptive plan.
The Plot:
ٱقْتُلُوا۟ يُوسُفَ أَوِ ٱطْرَحُوهُ أَرْضًۭا يَخْلُ لَكُمْ وَجْهُ أَبِيكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ قَوْمًۭا صَـٰلِحِينَ
“Slay Yusuf or cast him (forth) into some land, so that your father’s regard may be exclusively for you, and after that you may be a righteous people.” (Surah Yusuf, 12:9)
In order to gain the love and affection they so desperately sought, their plan was to remove Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) from the fold altogether by any means necessary. In order to achieve their goal, they were willing to even kill their half-brother in the process. In sharing their viewpoints with one another, there was no consensus on the matter of killing him, after all, he was their half-brother. The eventual decision was to strategically throw him into a well which would be frequented by some travellers who would take him to a distant land (12:10), albeit forcefully as a slave, and sell him in the marketplace.
The Plan of Execution:
They decided that the best way forward was to earn the trust of their father by appearing to be ‘wellwishers’ (12:11) to Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) and guardians to him (12:12). Being a Prophet of God as well, Ya’qub (Jacob peace be upon him) identified the ‘wolf’ in sheep clothing by alluding to his fear of Yusuf (peace be upon him) being eaten by a wolf (12:13). At their insistence (12:14), he reluctantly
let his beloved son Yusuf (peace be upon him) go, and the rest they say, is history!
The Cover up:
Having followed through with their evil plan and having thrown him into the well (12:15), what was now required from them was to ‘stage’ a cover up story. The first stage of this pivotal part of the plan was to once again portray themselves as well-wishers who are in mourning, followed by a false sense of responsibility by highlighting that they were truthful in the above matter, but in reality, they had aforetime
succumbed to the concept of their father’s possible disbelief in their affair (12:17). Since they had anticipated their father’s rejection of their side of the story, they went to great lengths in order to make him believe.
The Qur’an explains:
وَجَآءُو عَلَىٰ قَمِيصِهِۦ بِدَمٍۢ كَذِبٍۢ ۚ قَالَ بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ أَنفُسُكُمْ أَمْرًۭا ۖ فَصَبْرٌۭ جَمِيلٌۭ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ
And they brought his shirt with false blood upon it” (Surah Yusuf, 12:18)
The brothers slaughtered an animal and dipped Prophet Yusuf’s shirt in the blood to give credence to their story of him being eaten by wolf. The animal here may be regarded as the sacrificial lamb which had to pay the ultimate price in order for a few men to achieve their goal.
In retrospect of this part of the story of Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him), the Qur’an has displayed to the contemplative reader, the very essence, intimate details and mechanisms of a ‘False Flag’ operation. No rational person can reject the correlation between the contemporary understanding of a False Flag Operation and the insightful manner in which the Qur’an has detailed the incident.
Points of Interest:
Consider the following;
- In the opening verses of Surah Yusuf, he saw a dream in which there were 11 stars in obeisance to him (12:4). By the end of this beautiful historic event, those 11 stars were in fact, his own brothers who bowed to him (12:100) in the end. The 11 brothers, plus Yusuf (peace be upon him) totals to 12.
- These are the 12 tribes of the Sons of Jacob through whom the authentic Jews trace their lineage.
- Thus the story of Yusuf (peace be upon him) is a story of Jewish origin, the lengths they were prepared to go through to achieve their goal, their moving from Jerusalem to Egypt heralding their eventual enslavement to the Pharaoh at a much later stage.
- The consistency of the Qur’anic narrative in its acknowledgment of the 12 tribes of the Israelites is seen some centuries later during the era of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) when he prayed for his people (the Israelites) and struck the rock with his staff, thus 12 springs gushed forth (2:60). These 12 springs were to ensure that each tribe was in possession of their own water supply.
- Surah Yusuf is, by no coincidence, the 12th Surah of the Qur’an.
- It may be that Allāh Almighty is directing our attention to the perpetrators of the initial false flag operation.
Conclusion:
As a believer of a religion which is faced with constant bombardment from the media in the form of Islāmophobic statements, I am well aware of the rhetoric concerning anti-Semitism and the backlash one may receive for even raising an eyebrow in the direction of the Jews. Hence I would like to clarify that the Qur’an declared that not all Jews are bad, but there are amongst them those who are righteous (7:168). With that in mind, we clarify here that my comments are not directed to the orthodox Jews at all, hence the cry of ‘anti-Semitic’ in response to this article should not even be a consideration. If anything, the majority of the people who bark the bark of anti-Semitism are those who have no historical connection with the Israelites. If ‘Freedom of Speech’ and ‘Freedom of Religion’ appear to be anything remotely close to what the democracies of the world preach it to be, then in reality we should have the freedom to discuss the inferences from our Holy Book, coupled with reason. The information in this article combined with the subject of Islāmic Eschatology causes us to look for a era when False Flag Operations become the vanguard of discussion once more. During that time, we must unearth the truth by returning to the Qur’an and the prophetic traditions of Nabi Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him) in order to explain this bogus age we are witnessing.
To the Muslims who are suffering as a result of the age of deception, we remind them of a profound verse of the Qur’an:
