بِسْمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
How many wives and children did Ameerul Mumineen Hazrat Umar ibn Khattaab (Allah be pleased with him) have?
Hazrat Umar (Allah be pleased with him) married 6 wives in his lifetime and had a total of 11 children – 7 sons and 4 daughters. Their names are:
- Zainab bint Maz’oon (Allah be pleased with her) – She was the mother of Abdullah ibn Umar, Abdur Rahmaan ibn Umar (Al-Akbar) and Ummul Mumineen Sayyidah Hafsah bint Umar (Allah be pleased with them)
- Mulaikah bint Abu Ummayah (Allah be pleased with her) – She was the mother of Ubaidullah ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with him)
- Qareebah bint Abi Ummayah (Allah be pleased with her) – Hazrat Umar (Allah be pleased with him) divorced her in Makkah and she didn’t give birth to any of his children
- Umme Kulthoom bint Jarwal (Allah be pleased with her) – She was the mother of Zaid ibn Umar
(Al-Akbar) (Allah be pleased with him)
- Umme Hakeem bint Haarith (Allah be pleased with her) – She was the mother of Faathimah bint Umar (Allah be pleased with her)
- Umme Kulthoom bint Ali (Allah be pleased with her) (the grand-daughter of Rasoolullah (peace be upon him)) – she was the mother of Zaid ibn Umar (Al-Asghar) and Ruqayyah bint Umar (Allah be pleased with them)
Hazrat Umar (Allah be pleased with him) had two Ummul Walads, their names and children are:
- Luhayah (Allah be pleased with her) – She was the mother of Abdur Rahman ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with him)
- Fukaiha (Allah be pleased with her) – She was the mother of Zainab bint Umar (Allah be pleased with her)
