If one does not know Dua-e-Qunut from memory, can another Dua be read in the third Rak’at of Esha’s Witr Salah instead?

- If one does not know Dua-e-Qunut from memory, can another Dua be read in the third Rak’at of Esha’s Witr Salah instead?
- Fuqaha (jurists) of the Hanafi Mazhab opine that reciting a Dua in the third Rak’at of Esha’s Witr Salah is Wajib (obligatory) but it is not necessary for a specific Dua to be recited. The better Dua to recite however is the traditional Dua-e-Qunut.
If one doesn’t know Dua-e-Qunut as yet (e.g. a Muslim who has newly embraced the Deen), the following Dua can be recited,
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
If one does not know this Dua by memory, then the following Dua can be recited three times, اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ
If one is unable to memorize the above, then by reading the following Dua three times, the obligation will be fulfilled, يَا رَبِّيْ
A concerted effort should be made to memorize the Dua-e-Qunut in the interim of not knowing it as reciting it specifically in Witr Salah is Sunnah.
