بِسْمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
How many children did Sayyiduna Ali (Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyidah Fathima (Allah be pleased with her) have? Who do the names ‘Shabbeer’ (شَبِّيْر) and ‘Shabbar’(شَبَّر) refer to?
Sayyiduna Ali (Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyidah Fathima (Allah be pleased with her) had a total of six children – three sons and three daughters. Their names were: Hasan, Hussain, Muhsin (males) Zainab, Umme Kulthoom and Ruqayah (females) (Allah be pleased with them). Hazrat Muhsin (Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyida Ruqayah (Allah be pleased with her) both passed away in infancy. (Madaarij-un-Nubuwah, Vol.2, pg. 622)
The actual words are pronounced as Shabar (شَبَر) and Shubair (شُبَيْر) on the scale of the names of Nabi Haroon’s (peace be upon him) sons. Shabar on the scale of Hasan refers to Imaam Hasan (Allah be pleased with him) and Shubair on the scale of Hussain refers to Imaam Hussain (Allah be pleased with him).

Shabar and Shubair has the same meaning as Hasan and Hussain respectively.
