بِسْمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Is Thawaab (reward) for a Nafl (optional) good deed performed in the month of Ramadaan increased?
It is the favour of Allah Ta’aala and the mercy of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (peace be upon him) that a good deed performed in the month of Ramadaan carries greater reward, a Nafl good deed’s reward in Ramadaan is more than one performed out of Ramadaan.
Aala Hazrath Imaam Ahmad Raza Khan Barailwi (Allah be pleased with him) records the following Hadeeth with reference to Sahih Ibn Khuzaima Hadeeth number 1887 – Hazrath Salmaan Farsi (Allah be pleased with him) narrates the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) to have said,
من تقرب فيه بخصلة من الخير كان كمن أدى فريضة فيما سواه و من أدى فيه فريضة كان كمن أدى سبعين فريضة فيما سواه
One who performs an optional good deed in Ramadaan acquires the reward of a Fardh (compulsory) action out of Ramadaan. One who performs a Fardh action in Ramadaan earns the reward similar to one who performs 70 Fardh actions out of Ramadaan.
