بِسْمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
What is Qurbaani and upon whom is it obligatory?
In terms of Hanafi Fiqh, Qurbaani or Udhiya is to sacrifice a particular type of an animal during a specified period of time with the intention of Qurbah (i.e. to acquire nearness and reward from Allah)

Adult Muslim males and females possessing the amount of Nisaab separate from their living expenses and who are Muqeem (resident/ not a Musafir) are obligated to make Qurbaani.

The time for Qurbaani is from the Subh Saadiq of the 10th of Zhul-Hijjah until the sun sets on the 12th of Zhul-Hijjah. These three days are called Ayaam-un-Nahr.
